The Story Behind DASHCUB: Why I Created Travel Kits for Kids

As a parent, I’ve always believed in the magic of family travel -- the chance to explore new places, make memories, and step outside of our everyday routines. But if we’re being honest, traveling with young kids isn’t always easy. After one too many flights filled with screen time and restaurant meals interrupted by the familiar, “Can I have your phone?”, I found myself wishing for something better.
I wanted my kids to be engaged without relying on a device and for me to enjoy the journey with them instead of constantly managing meltdowns or battling boredom. I wanted something simple, something that could spark creativity, invite connection, and fit easily into a tote bag. That’s where the idea for DASHCUB began.
DASHCUB was created out of a real need..., mine. I didn’t want to bring a huge bag of toys or stress over screen limits every time we left the house. I wanted a curated solution that felt intentional, fun, and travel-friendly. Each DASHCUB kit is filled with quiet games, mess-free crafts, and reusable activities, all carefully chosen to support open-ended, screen-free play. Everything is selected with real travel in mind: compact, TSA-friendly, and easy to use on a plane, in a car, or at a restaurant table.
I started DASHCUB as a tired parent looking for a better way. Now, it’s become something more, a little travel companion designed to make your next family adventure smoother, quieter, and a little more joyful.
Thanks for letting us be part of your next adventure.
